OMNIDEX / OUR THESIS

An Omni should feel like yours.

A face you recognize. A habit you remember. A little Omni with a story worth telling.

We believe personal discoveries become more meaningful when they have an identity you can get to know. Omnidex is our experiment in giving each new Omni that attention.

01 / THE BELIEF

Give people an Omni to remember.

There is something special about meeting a character that feels connected to your own experience. You notice its shape. You learn its odd little habits. You start telling other people about it.

Our bet is that the connection grows when an Omni has a coherent identity: a look, a personality, a story, and a way of moving through the world. That is the experience we want to build around every discovery.

The goal is an Omni you recognize before you read its name.

02 / MEET THE IDEA

Identity, in motion.

Choose a founder. Watch how its own drawing becomes a living character.

Each animation sheet is made from that Omni’s own drawing, keeping its colors and proportions connected across its movements. These founders have ten motion states each.

THE POSSIBILITY

AI makes room for each discovery.

A growing world needs attention for every new character. AI helps us turn the fly’s starting traits into a name, a visual design, field notes, moves, and animation sheets.

That makes it practical to build an Omni’s identity as the collection grows. The fly supplies the reaction and inherited traits. AI develops those into a character you can meet, watch, and take into the arena.

New discoveries can arrive before their full animation set is ready. Animation jobs are made in a queue.

AN OMNI’S FIELD KIT

  1. 01
    A recognizable design

Its own silhouette, colors and visual details.

  2. 02
A character to get to know

A name, temperament and field-guide story.

  3. 03
    A way of moving

Animation sheets based on its own drawing.

  4. 04
    A place in the game

Its stats and moves, playing out in real fights.

03 / THE ORIGIN

A small brain gives it a beginning.

Behind each discovery is a picture, a fly’s view, and a recorded neural reaction.

03 / One second of neurons

Zundago’s recorded founder origin. Choose a different Omni above to compare.

  1. 01

Your picture becomes a fly view.

Your device makes a 64 × 48 grey view. Only that tiny view is sent; your original picture stays on your phone or computer.

  2. 02

    Its neurons react.

A simulation of 166,700 neurons, based on a published fruit-fly connectome, receives the view for one simulated second. Most of the changing activity is in its visual system.

  3. 03

    The reaction shapes the discovery.

For a new scan, the response is compared with the 150 founders. The three closest reactions supply inherited traits, and their stats are blended by the fly’s match shares.

  4. 04

    You meet the Omni.

The traits and blurry view guide its design. Its record keeps its look, story and fly response together, ready to explore and take into the arena.

The 150 founders began with licensed stock photos. Their photo colors helped choose their elements; their fly views inspired their shapes, and their neural responses set their stats. Read the credits.

04 / WHAT WE MEAN

A distinct identity. A lasting record.

We use “unique” to describe the care and identity of a discovery. Here is what that means in the game today.

Its identity belongs to its record.

A new discovery receives its own name, design, traits, story and moves. Its animation sheets use its drawing as their reference. Those details stay together on its Omni page.

The same fly view finds the same Omni.

When the exact 64 × 48 view has already been scanned, Omnidex returns the existing record. Different photos can produce the same tiny view. Repeat discoveries are part of how the world works.

Originality is something we work toward.

The design process considers existing Omnis, avoids taken names and reviews drawings for trait fit and lookalike concerns. These checks encourage distinct characters; they cannot guarantee that every possible design will look different from everything else.
